How we write and review these guides

Datifide's guides answer practical questions nonprofit leaders ask about funding options, data licensing, and privacy. They are general education, not legal, tax, or accounting advice for your organization. For decisions about your nonprofit, review the questions in each guide with your own advisers.

Our sources

Each guide links to the primary sources it relies on—such as nonprofit-sector organizations, official U.S. government guidance, and a provider's own public description of its program—near the claims those sources support. We record when we last reviewed the key sources for an article, and we update articles when the facts they rely on actually change. A provider's own website can support what that provider advertises; it is not independent proof of results, and citing an organization does not make it a Datifide partner or endorser.

What we don't claim

We don't invent results, client stories, endorsements, credentials, or expert reviews. Where an outcome is uncertain—whether a nonprofit qualifies, what its records might be worth, or how proceeds can be used—we say so, and we explain what the answer depends on.

How Datifide earns money

Our guides are free, and Datifide's guidance and initial referral service are free to nonprofits. If a referral leads to a qualifying deal, the licensing company pays Datifide a referral fee. That relationship is why we write about data licensing at all, so we disclose it in our guides and wherever we suggest a next step. It does not change what our sources say, and we link those sources so you can check them yourself.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix the article and update its "Updated" date when the change is substantive. Spot an error? Email support@datifide.com.
